The Master Executive Council (MEC) is comprised of locally-elected Presidents and three MEC Officers. The Local Executive Council Presidents (LECP) make up the voting body of the MEC. Positions are elected by a simple majority, with each LECP casting one vote for each position.

The LEC Presidents elect three officers to lead the MEC: a President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasurer.
These MEC Officers do not carry a vote on the MEC with the exception of the MEC President, who votes only to break a tie, if they are not a Local President. The Presidents will also elect all MEC Chair Positions.

All MEC positions have a commitment of 3 years, starting July 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2022. You should have extensive knowledge of our contract and Union operations to apply for the position. Please review the information below for the duties it entails and for information on where to submit your resume.

Candidates must be active Members in good standing, and should submit a resume or a signed “Willingness to Serve” statement, preferably by March 8, 2019. Interested candidates are encouraged, but not required, to give an in-person interview or a phone interview at the MEC meeting where the elections will be conducted. Any candidate who wishes to appear for an interview must do so at their personal expense.

The MEC Meeting will take place March 12, 13 and 14, 2019 at the AFA Field Office; 610 S. Industrial Blvd. Euless, TX.
